Wingate, May 21.— Dr. Max D. Henley, Wingate veterinary surgeon and World War veteran, died Monday night at 9:30 o'clock at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis. He was 46 years of age. Dr. Henley had been ill for the past eight weeks and was seriously ill nearly two weeks. Pneumonia was the direct cause of his death. The deceased was born at Marshall, Ind., on September 4, 1893, the son of Andrew and Ida Henley. In September, 1919, he was married at Kingman to Ruby Ephlin. Dr. Henley had been in practice here as a veterinary for the past 21 years and maintained a modern animal hospital. He was a graduate of Terre Haute Veterinary College. Dr. Henley was a member of the Masonic Lodge and O. E. S., and belonged to the Methodist church at Wingate. He was a member of the American Legion post at Hillsboro. Surviving are Dr. Henley's wife, Mrs. Ruby Henley, and one sister, Mrs. Mavis Allen of near Wingate. The funeral will be held from the Wingate Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. J. C. Whitson. The Masonic Lodge and the American Legion will assist in the services, and the body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the funeral. Burial will be made in the Kingman cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
